ELEVEN YEARS OF CHANGING LIVES…

In September of 2000, on a green in Charlotte, North Carolina, the Links For Lupus Golf Tournament was born with that very first swing of a club.  Founded by our family, Links For Lupus, has been helping to raise money for the Lupus Foundation of America (LFA) because lupus has touched our family personally with the diagnosis of two of our sisters.  With the support of our decade-long partners, Little and RT Dooley, the last eleven years of the tournament have raised more than $309,000 for the LFA Piedmont Chapter, which provides local education and support services to 14,000 people in our region who are living with lupus. Ninety percent of every dollar that has been raised has stayed in our area.

Lupus is a chronic, debilitating disease that affects one out of every 185 Americans.  And we are ecstatic that since last year's tournament, we witnessed our efforts in action with the approval of the first FDA-approved drug for lupus in more than 52 years.  Our players’ participation in this tournament has supported the vital research that helped make this possibility a reality.

This is why we thank you for the last 11 years of support and hope you will join us in celebrating this milestone with an afternoon of golf with a purpose.  The 11th Annual Links for Lupus Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, August 29, 2011 at Cedarwood Country Club in Charlotte.

Last year we had a sold out event, so just a reminder that we have a limited number of spaces and sponsorship packages, which means try and sign up as soon as possible. To reserve your sponsorship package, please register by Friday, August 19, 2011.

If you can't join us this year, we ask you to consider helping us to improve the lives of those who are affected by lupus in one of the following ways:

• Making a special Links for Lupus Gift to the LFA.
• Donating a raffle or silent auction prize.
